Costs Agreements and Communication Techniques to Ensure You Get Paid – Special 2 Hour Seminar
The payment of fees starts with communicating the retainer and costs agreement through to Disclosure Information and negotiating client concerns or complaints. There are red flags that should warn a practitioner at an early stage about client intentions and ability to pay. Missing these warnings signs or failing to communicate effectively can leave you exposed to a client dispute over fees and at worst, a formal complaint.
This in depth session will take you through the factors to weigh up when deciding whether to act for the client, setting the relationship on solid foundations, including security of payment options and minimising the risks of a client dispute. It will also address the warning signs the client won’t pay and recovery options.
